Today was a very fun outreach at the U of M Children’s Hospital. The MN Vikings mascot Victor as well as several players come to greet the children. I was enjoying bringing some magic to the children too. I enjoy seeing their smiling faces and hope this brightens their day a bit.

Library Magician in Minnesota

It is fun to bring Magic shows to the children at the Summer Reading Programs.  We already have 8 libraries booked for this coming summer tour.  the theme is Super Heroes … And I thought I would bring a program that talks about how kids can learn about being a hero at the library but also develop their skills and interests so they can be a hero too.  Maybe they will be a scientist or Nurse or fire fighter. You can learn about that at your library.

Busy Magical Weekend

Holiday shows can keep a magician running this time of year.  There are many fun magicians in MN and they bring laughter to special events and Company Parties. I enjoy hearing the laughter.

Yesterday (Sunday) I had four programs in St. Paul for Teen aged groups (FUN!) and on Saturday I once again entertained the families at Toro.

Then I jetted off to the Airport for my 6th year doing the Pilors for Kids program at Delta.  That is a fun show. Goldie the U of MN Gopher came up and helped to a trick in the show. And the Viking’s Victor sat right next to the show and helped with many tricks.

It is fun to hear the laughter and I am glad that so many groups invite me back year after year.

The Nest Fest is an event that has the goal to raise funds for their programs that serve many Veterans in Minnesota.

Rogers Library Children’s Librarian Abike and Mr. Norm with a few of his books that can be found at the library.

It was fun to bring the comedy and magic show to the families in Roger’s, MN.  This Hennepin County Library has had the magic show by Mr. Norm at least 6 times over the past 20 years. I enjoy hearing the laughter. It is exciting to get kids motivated to read.

Minnesota Magician – Magical Mia at Roseville Library

The Amazing Minnesota Magician, Magical Mia recently performed at the Roseville Library to a crowd of around 225 kids and parents. Their response to the show was wonderful. The children oohed and applauded all through the magic show.

Minnesota Magician brings her amazing show to the Roseville Library. The kids really enjoyed the wonderful tricks of Magical Mia.

Magic Show in Twin Cities at the Roseville Library. Also seen this summer by two audiences at the Chaska Library and coming soon to Oxboro Library in Bloomington.

Magical Mia’s tricks are amazing and colorful. She entertained the audience with vanishing candles and a disappearing Ming style vase. She magically made light appear at her fingertips and also made a lot of individual pearls become a long string of pearls in a flash. It was perplexing and yet very lovely. Many came up after the show to express their delight in the magic of Mia.

Making Magic in MN

WOW, it is a very busy summer with lots of magic shows at libraries and festivals.

Last week had 5 libraries and also a very fun group of 240 kids and teachers at a summer school program in Chatfield, MN.
The director was so kind to write this note about the magic show.

“Norm visited our school age child care program and our kids loved it! Lots of fun! thanks Norm!” Sue T. Director Valleyland Kids.

She likes exclamation points! Cool, and it was fun for me to hear the laughter and the oohs and ahhs from the assembled bunch.

The children really like to get involved and help with the magic tricks and this makes it fun for me to see how each youngster engages themself with the various tricks. They will often say the funniest things on stage and it is always a new show for me.

This was a fascinating picture I took. Fog over lake Superior and dark rain clouds coming over the lake from behind me… the sky opened and behind was this lovely view of clouds and blue skies in the distant Eastern sky.

Up North at Cabin for a week near Grand Marais, MN. I came back to do some 4th of July magic shows.

I just returned from my 4th or 5th year at a Independence Day Celebration in Chaska, MN. This year the magic show featured the Flag trick where I talk about the various colors of the flag and what they stand for … A young lady makes them each disappear with a flash of the magic wand and then they magically assemble in a newspaper to become the U.S. Flag. I then encourage the kids to read more at their local library about history.

Several people came up to ask if I could be at their library soon. I was not sure, but they said they say Mr. Norm in the Newspaper, so when I check – indeed Chaska Library two shows on Wednesday of this coming week after the 4th. This will be my 10-12 the appearance at this wonderful library over the past 30 years. Usually the second show is a bit less crowded. Please call the Chaska library for details.

Most of my work is repeat and word of mouth and I guess people enjoy the tricks and the comedy magic show.
